TileMan.io is a multiplayer territory game where you draw routes, capture tiles, avoid rival players, use multiple modes, and expand your colored area.
TileMan.io is a multiplayer territory strategy game where you begin with a small colored area and try to control more of the grid than your opponents. Leaving your territory creates a snake-like trail behind you. Return safely to your own tiles and the enclosed area becomes part of your territory. The risk is that you are vulnerable while outside your safe area, so every large expansion creates an opportunity for another player to eliminate you.
The game was created by tiledev and is based on the territory-capture style popularized by games such as Splix.io. TileMan.io adds several game modes, a stop command, global leaderboards, communication controls, and rule changes of its own. CrazyGames lists the game's release as December 2018.
You start each match inside a small section of colored tiles. Moving within your own territory is relatively safe. The important decisions begin when you cross its border.
Outside your area, your movement leaves a colored trail. To claim more tiles, travel through unowned or rival territory and reconnect with your existing land. Completing that route expands your colored area.
Longer routes can capture more territory in one move, but they also keep you exposed for longer. Opponents are trying to expand at the same time, so a route that looks profitable can become dangerous when another player moves toward your trail.
The official game supports keyboard and touch controls. One unusual feature is the ability to stop your movement instead of being forced to continue constantly.
A large loop can increase your territory quickly, but it also produces a longer exposed route. The farther you travel from your existing area, the more time an opponent has to interfere before you reconnect.
Smaller loops are useful when several rivals are nearby. You gain fewer tiles per expansion, but you can return to safety much faster. Once the surrounding space becomes less crowded, you can consider larger captures.
This balance between territory and exposure is the central strategy of TileMan.io. Expanding aggressively is valuable only when you can complete the route.
Unlike many similar territory games, TileMan.io allows you to stop using E, P, or Numpad 5. The official comparison with Splix also notes that paused players inside their own territory cannot simply be killed there; an opponent must first capture the tile where the paused player is located.
The stop function can be useful when you want to observe another player's route before committing to a direction. It can also prevent an unnecessary turn when moving immediately would send you toward a crowded border.
Stopping does not remove the need to plan. Once you travel outside your territory again, the risks of expansion return.
The official game currently lists five modes, each changing the size, speed, visibility, or capture rules of the arena.
| Mode | Map | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Large | 1x |
| Extreme Speed | Medium | 4x |
| No Kills | Large | 1x |
| Rats | Small | 1x |
| Arena | Tiny | 1x |
Classic gives you the largest standard battlefield. Extreme Speed increases movement to four times normal speed, making direction changes and return timing more demanding. Rats and Arena reduce the available map space, increasing how often players encounter one another.
Your own territory is only part of the information on screen. Before making a large loop, look at nearby players and the direction they are traveling.
If another player is already close to the border you plan to use, expanding from the opposite side can reduce immediate pressure. You can always return to the contested area later when that opponent moves away or becomes occupied with another player.
The minimap also behaves differently between modes. Classic and Extreme Speed display all territories, while No Kills and Rats show only your own territory according to the official mode table.
You do not have to limit expansion to empty tiles. Territory can change ownership as players move across the arena. This makes borders especially important because a large domain is difficult to protect everywhere at once.
TileMan.io also differs from Splix in allowing territory captures that contain other players in supported modes. The exact number allowed varies between modes.
When attacking another player's land, keep your route compact. Taking a smaller section near your existing border usually requires less exposure than trying to cut deeply through the center of a rival's territory.
When other players are close, use short loops. You return to safety sooner and give rivals less time to interfere with your expansion.
Your territory may have several possible expansion directions. If one side is crowded with rival players, use another edge rather than immediately entering a contested route.
The stop command gives you a moment to observe movement around your territory. Use it when choosing between two dangerous directions instead of committing without checking nearby players.
Eliminating another player can help, but long pursuits also pull you away from your own safe territory. A nearby expansion may provide useful tiles with less risk.
Extreme Speed requires quicker decisions, while the smaller Rats and Arena maps bring players into contact more frequently. Do not use exactly the same loop size and timing in every mode.

Your goal is to expand your starting territory by leaving it, creating a route through the grid, and safely returning to your own area.
Move outside your territory and reconnect the resulting trail with your existing colored area. The completed route expands your territory.
Press E, P, or Numpad 5. On touch devices, tap the screen to stop.
The official site lists Classic, Extreme Speed, No Kills, Rats, and Arena.
The official credits identify the developer as tiledev. CrazyGames lists the game's original release as December 2018.
TileMan.io rewards controlled expansion more than reckless attempts to capture half the arena at once. Build your territory with routes you can safely complete, watch nearby players before crossing your border, use the stop control when you need time to choose a direction, and adapt your strategy to each game mode. Every extra tile increases your control of the map, but every trip outside your territory also creates another opportunity to lose it.
