Cursed Treasure 2 is a tower defense game where you build evil towers, cast spells, upgrade defenses, and stop heroes from stealing magical gems.
Cursed Treasure 2 is a tower defense strategy game where you play as the defender of a collection of magical gems. Instead of protecting heroes from monsters, you command orcs, undead creatures, and demons while waves of knights, ninjas, paladins, angels, and other heroes attempt to steal your treasure. Build towers on suitable terrain, upgrade them as they gain experience, cast spells when enemies break through, and stop the thieves before they escape with your gems.
The game was developed by IriySoft. The original browser version appeared on Kongregate on August 30, 2013. Later releases expanded the game to mobile and Steam, while the HTML5 Remastered edition preserved the browser tower-defense experience after Flash.
Every map contains paths leading toward your gem cave. Heroes enter in waves and automatically travel toward the treasure. Your job is to build enough defensive firepower along those routes to eliminate them before they reach the gems.
If an enemy reaches the cave, it can take a gem and begin carrying it back toward the exit. That means reaching your treasure does not always end the battle immediately—you still have an opportunity to destroy the thief before the gem leaves the map. In the original version, losing all five gems causes the mission to fail.
Enemies drop resources that help you strengthen the defense. Towers can gain experience and receive stronger upgrades during a mission, while broader progression awards ability points that improve towers, spells, and other systems between stages.
The original browser version is primarily mouse controlled and also includes keyboard shortcuts for towers, spells, speed, and waves.
Cursed Treasure 2 uses three basic tower factions. Unlike tower defense games where any tower can occupy any building spot, terrain determines where each type can be constructed.
| Tower | Faction | Required Terrain |
|---|---|---|
| Den | Orcs | Grass |
| Crypt | Undead | Snow |
| Temple | Demons | Dry or rocky terrain |
This restriction makes map layout part of the strategy. A long stretch of path beside grass favors Dens, while another section may force you to depend on Crypts or Temples. High-ground positions can also improve tower effectiveness, making certain locations especially valuable.
Adding another tower increases coverage, but experienced towers can develop into much stronger defenses. Each faction has its own upgrade options and specialized abilities, so two towers that started identically can eventually serve different battlefield roles.
For example, upgraded undead Crypts can gain fear-related abilities, while Demon Temples can develop effects capable of damaging groups or creating dangerous ground effects. The progression system encourages you to strengthen towers that consistently attack important sections of the route rather than filling every available tile with low-level defenses.
Magic gives you direct control over emergencies that automated towers cannot handle alone. Spells consume mana, so using them at the right moment matters.
Terror is particularly useful against enemies that are close to the gem cave because forcing them backward exposes them to additional tower attacks. Meteor works better when several threatening enemies are grouped together rather than when only one weak target remains.
The invading army contains more than ordinary walking targets. Armor Games specifically identifies threats such as invisible ninjas, armored paladins, and flying angels. Other enemies can support nearby units, interfere with towers, or bypass terrain that normally controls the route.
This variety is why one tower configuration will not solve every level. A defense that handles ordinary troops easily may struggle when an enemy ability reduces the effectiveness of your strongest position or avoids part of the expected path.
The full standard release contains 24 levels. Completed stages can also be replayed in Night Mode, where limited illumination makes it harder to see the battlefield outside areas revealed by your defenses.
Replaying levels also gives you an opportunity to improve your result after earning stronger permanent abilities. A map that was difficult during the first attempt can become easier once you understand its routes, enemy types, and most valuable tower positions.
When a map provides elevated positions, consider reserving them for towers that can cover a useful portion of the route. A strong position improves the value of later upgrades because the same tower keeps attacking enemies for longer.
A tower beside a busy intersection or long section of road usually earns more combat experience and attacks more enemies than one covering a short route. Concentrate expensive upgrades where they will be used frequently.
Do not cast Meteor simply because enough mana is available. Save emergency magic for grouped enemies, fast units, or thieves that are approaching the gems.
Sending a dangerous group backward can be more valuable than dealing immediate damage. The retreat forces those enemies to cross your tower coverage again.
Cut Out costs mana. Remove trees when the resulting building location provides important coverage rather than clearing terrain merely because it is available.

Your goal is to build and upgrade defenses that stop invading heroes from taking the magical gems from your cave and escaping with them.
The three basic defenses are the Orc Den, Undead Crypt, and Demon Temple. Each tower faction has its own upgrades and terrain requirements.
The standard full release contains 24 levels, with Night Mode providing an additional challenge when replaying stages.
The original browser version includes Cut Out, Terror, and Meteor. Cut Out clears forest, Terror frightens enemies backward, and Meteor deals direct area damage.
Cursed Treasure 2 was developed by IriySoft. The original Kongregate browser release dates to August 30, 2013.
Cursed Treasure 2 rewards players who adapt their defense to the map instead of simply building the same towers everywhere. Match each tower faction to its terrain, strengthen positions with useful coverage, conserve mana for dangerous breakthroughs, and pay attention to special enemy abilities. A hero reaching the cave does not necessarily mean the gem is lost—the defense succeeds as long as you can stop the thief before the treasure leaves the battlefield.
